Ever since the Season 1 finale, we have been wondering. Why is she here? What will she do? Why does she look exactly like Elena? Did she come for Stefan, Damon, or both? Does she want to end Elena? Or take over Mystic Falls?
Katherine Pierce is leaving us with question marks above our heads episode after episode. But we don’t want her to leave, do we. Here’s why.
Because she’s, well, Katherine. Mystic Falls wouldn’t be the same withoutthe evil, cruel, flirty, smart, backstabbing bitch that is Katherine Pierce. In the 1st season, Katherine is always hanging somewhere in the air (the picture, the flashbacks, Damon’s obsessions with the Tomb, Uncle John, Isobel, dot dot dot), and then the famous kiss in the season’s finale. Season 2 began, heated up, and we still don’t know what she’s up to. She’s messing up Stefan, messed up Damon, messing up Stefan and Elena, turned Caroline, wrapped poor uncle Mason around her finger, but we still don’t know why. We also still don’t know very much about her, how did she get like she is, who turnder her, who is she running away from…. Well, it wouldn’t be TVD like to unwrap all of that in, say, 2 episodes now would it?
Game changers. Do I really need to explain this? Every shocking moment on TVD had something to do with Kat. Being it Elena running away from Stefan when she saw Kat’s picture, until the last Thursday’s episodes and Jenna and plans B, C, D etc. Makes me wonder what and how much she’s got rolled up her sleeve. And I have a feeling we haven’t seen anything yet.
Bromance Remember the Stefan “she will try to turn us against each other” speech? Well. Stef and Damon are closer than ever, because Kat is trying to destroy all that they love. And, when you think what’s coming up, in terms of Stefan, Damon, Alaric and Jeremy joining up, we want her to stick around so they would stick together.
Bonnie. I don’t know about you, but it was kind of good seeing miss “I blame Damon for everything” a bit confused when she got the fact that she’s no match to Katherine. And plus, if there’s a motivation for Bonnie to get more involved with helping her friends, and renewing her friendship with Elena and Caroline, who better than the ever threatening Kat.
Nina Dobrev. She has been sooooo good playing Katherine that we just don’t want that to go away. She’s great as Elena, of course, but when you see both of them, Elena and Kat, you see the difference, the feelings, (or lack of), the human and the vamp, it’s like Kat is played by Nina’s evil twin.
And yes, I doubt Elena would be wearing all those cool shoes.
A Visitor’s Guide To Mystic Falls in available now. This book is amazing and everyone should want to read these essays edited by our friends at vampire-diaries.net!

Kevin Williamson revealed there is a backstory to Katherine that we don’t know about and there will be more Katherine flashbacks.
From the new footage of season two, it’s revealed that Katherine did not come back to Mystic Falls for Damon; she came back from Stefan. “The truth is, I never loved you.”
Katherine and Stefan will come face-to-face in the season premiere of the show.
Julie Plec revealed tidbits about Jeremy: “Jeremy is going to wake up alive or he’s going to wake up dead, but he will wake up.”
Will Caroline survive? Julie Plec wasn’t so clear about that. “Caroline’s life is hanging in the balance; it will either be very sad very dramatic, or she’ll live to tell the tale.”
Damon and Stefan will struggle with their own issues: “Damon is wrestling with the good side of him, and Stefan will have to come to terms with being a vampire and excepting it,” Williamson said. But it’s something Somerhalder himself isn’t all that happy about. He chimed in, “The nice Damon freaks me out! I don’t know how to do it well. My favorite scenes are the fun, nutty Damon.” Agreed, Ian, agreed.
Kevin Williamson said people are going to die, but “”We don’t kill people just to kill people. It has to fit in the story and make sense.”
What is it about the vampire lifestyle that’s so attractive? Inquiring minds, also known as “Vampire Diaries” stars Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev, want to know.
CNN and CNN iReport caught up with the actors at Comic-Con 2010, and the three have issued an assignment to find out why we’re obsessed with vamps. Check out the video for more details.
You see, even though she is loyal to the people of Mystic falls, Nina admits to being a giant fan of “True Blood.” When asked who her favorite character was on the HBO series, she didn’t hesitate to respond. “Eric!” she exclaimed in reference to hottie mc hottie Alexander Skarsgard. “Because he’s not on ‘The Vampire Diaries’ — I already get to play with those boys on set and as Elena and Katherine — so it would be fun to be on ‘True Blood’ and to be with the bad boy on ‘True Blood.’”
While calling Eric “tall and scary,” Nina then interrupted herself with this brilliant brainstorm: “You know what? I would like to merge ['Vampire Diaries' and 'True Blood']. I want Katherine and Eric to be together.” In the video above, you can hear us respond, “that would be amazing” (because, really, it WOULD BE) and Nina agreed. “That would be fun!”
