Maiara Walsh is going to add some party girl attitude back in Mystic Falls. It’s been announced that Walsh will guest as Sarah, “a high schooler who likes to party.” She will appear in the October 7, 2010 episode of The Vampire Diaries.

“Sarah is a girl who sets her eyes on Jeremy and encourages him to party it up at the Lockwood house.”

She definitely seems to be Jeremy’s type; he likes the girls who really like to party, aka Vicki. Does this mean the upswing in Jeremy’s behavior is gone? He had really changed his path in life, but maybe he’s up for a good party again. And does this mean trouble for Jeremy? He was never a friend of Tyler, so partying in the Lockwood house doesn’t seem like a good idea! We will have to wait and see.

Don’t forget, like you really could, that The Vampire Diaries season two premiere airs on Thursday, September 9, 2010 on The CW.

Steven R. McQueen: Jeremy has been in and out of love in season one of the show which has led to some compelling moments on the screen. How can we forget “Haunted” when Jeremy figures out what happened to Vicki and then has to see her die. And his work with unraveling the vampire mystery of Mystic Falls and falling in love with Anna! And we’re all waiting to see if Jeremy went vamp for season two!

If Jeremy doesn’t survive Season 2 — and let’s be honest, no one is safe in Mystic Falls – I’d love to see him as the lead in his own action-packed CW show. His star turn in this summer’s unexpectedly awesome “Piranha 3-D” has made quite a splash, and I’ve got no doubt that McQueen is bound for big things. It doesn’t hurt that he’s one of the nicest guys in TV. It’s always refreshing when good things happen to good people.

Michael Trevino: He wasn’t the forefront of the season one and the writers kept hinting at the werewolf thing that never really came out in the first season. Really after Vicki “left” Mystic Falls we didn’t see much of the young Lockwood. But things seem to be picking up for him in season two.

Trevino’s not only easy on the eyes but also possesses the charm and charisma which could easily carry him to leading man status. We applaud and welcome Trevino’s (or as we like to refer to him — TV’s Taylor Lautner) juicier storyline. “Vampire Diaries” DVR Season 2 pass. Check. Trevino Werewolf Spin-Off. Check.

“I mean, I’m sure Elena has had dreams about Damon,” Dobrev says. “I’m not sure if she was put in the position to kiss him what she would do. I feel like she has high morals, and she loves Stefan (Paul Wesley). It’s always been Stefan.”

Nina also says that thinks between Elena and Damon will stay strictly friendly. Elena does care about him and is concerned about what will happen to him, but she loves Stefan and “she wants to make that work.”

I love Ian to pieces and I love working with him and I think our chemistry as friends and the way Kevin and Julie write the two of them together, just the archetypes of the two characters together I think fit really well.”

AND if you’ve the books, tell us about some of your favorite moments from the books that were integrated into the show. For example, did you like the death of Mr. Tanner better in the show or the books? Or was the seance handled better in the books than on the show. Be specific because we really want to know what you think.

But Moyer shouldn’t be staked too much for his performance — most of the problem lies with the character Bill Compton. Bill follows in a long line of TV vampires who just kind of suck — and not in a good way.

The Vampire Diaries has the same problem — two vampires, one dud. Damon chews up every scene with his sociopathic, smooth-talking charm, while watching his guilt-ridden brother Stefan often feels like watching wet, undead paint dry.

Is this the way people feel about Stefan Salvatore? Is watching Stefan like watching “undead paint dry”? Damon and Stefan come from the same vampire world, but they view the circumstances very differently, but that doesn’t make one better than the other. There are “Team Damon” and “Team Stefan” but is that because one side is more dynamic than the other?

Stefan yearns for humanity; he wants to fall in love and live a normal life. Damon on the other hand is afraid of feeling anything because he’s been hurt in the past so he lashes out. Damon has a sharp tongue (along with those sharp teeth) which makes us laugh a lot but that is not the only side we see to Damon. There is more Stefan side to him that cares and yearns to love. After all, the whole first season was rooted in Damon’s love for Katherine. So why is OK for Damon to have deep rooted love for Katherine, but Stefan can’t have the same feelings for Elena?

Damon is predator and Stefan is a protector. It’s not really about one character being more vivacious than the other; it’s really about how these brothers are the complete opposites of each other but still manage to come together and work out their issues. Damon is what we expect out of a vampire, while Stefan shows us sides that are less unexpected. These two characters constantly evolve based on the actions of their counterpart and maybe Damon would be so on if Stefan was also like that.

Mr. Lackner, the writer of the referenced article, has definitely been taken in by Damon’s smooth talking ways which at some point everyone who has watched the show has too. But we have to take a step back and look at the ying and yang factor of The Vampire Diaries and how these two characters look at the situation very differently, therefore their approach is going to be different.

It’s understandable to like one more than the other, but really “watching undead paint dry” is a little harsh!
