Episode #37: It’s Elena

I love the tension b/t Damon and Elena. Though Damon has not declared his love 4 Elena to everyone and anyone is aware of his feelings. Everyone knows, though, not the depth of his feelings. Saying it out loud doesn’t change a thing, does it?

I have some speculation about whether or not Elena is going to remember Damon’s confession. The anwser? Yes she is because she has vervain in her system. In the scene in her bedroom, you can see a tea cup in the background. My guess is after she was compelled by Elijah so easily, she decided to start drinking Jenna’s “special tea” mentioned in Plan B. Elena probably realizes that its too easy for a vampire to just take off her necklace, and made the decision to orally injest vervain. Smart Girl. (one that would be even smarter if she chose Damon:)

i thought that elena was scared that damon would compell her to tell him her true feelings for him. thats the vibe i got. i hope she remembers

I got the feeling too that Elena was scared that Damon might try to compell her to admit to feelings she has for him. I think being compelled by an original that Damon’s compulsion might not hold well. In season one Stefan’s compulsion on Vickie didn’t hold and she started to remember Damon, and Damon then bit her again and took to the roof where the brothers argued. I digress….I think that this is more in line to what will happen with Elena and the memory Damon just took away from her. Who knows if she drinks some of Kathereine’s blood she might get a full flash back. I do find it interesting that Damon is the one who made sure he found and returned her necklace. I think at some point Elena will have to face the fact she feels more than just friendship for Damon. I am a fan of the books and the tv show and in some ways they are similar and in others the tv goes a completely different course. But in each genre I am a Damon fan…..( I am only an Elena fan with the tv not really the books, I can’t get past how she was introduced in the beginning and I keep waiting for her true selfish nature to come out)…. because he is so misunderstood and it seems everytime he tries to trust it just comes back to slam him down and he does what any of us would do he locks his heart somewhere where it can’t be hurt ever again and he lashes out. Granted to the extreme but remember he thinks like a vampire not a human. I just think Stefan needs a bit of tarnish on that shiny armour it would make him more real and more fascinating to me, because I want to know how hard it has been for him to get to the place he is now.

I am not Stefan bashing just stating things I have noticed about the books and the tv show.. that I would like to happen or to know.

PS….on the It’s Elena podcast there was a discussion about who Elena was looking at when she came down the steps…it was Damon then Stefan stepped into view. This I don’t think had to do with cameras and filming angles…go back and watch the beginning of Founder’s Day. the moment when Damon see’s Elena dressed in her period piece and looked the image of Katherine…look at Elena’s eyes…they travel from each brother, again and again, BUT they end looking at Damon and this slight smile hovers over her lips. Trust me my daughter and I rewound and rewound this part and Yep!!! She definitely keeps her eyes on Damon in the end, and then she does it again in Rose, eyes on Damon. I’m just saying…..
